Demand Planner

Forager Project is an organic, plant based California crafted Food Company established in 2013. We’re looking for a Demand Planner to lead our customer order planning and finished good inventory planning.  This is a full-time position working out of Forager’s Headquarters in the Financial District of San Francisco, reporting to the Director of Operations.

Job Responsibilities

Demand Planning

  • Working with retailer and distributor partners to build their weekly Purchase Orders.  Making sure they order enough to meet sell-through demand.  Making sure they do not order too much to prevent shrink and returns.

  • Using sell through data to forecast risk of out-of-stocks, shrink and returns. 

  • Working with Sales team to proactively move or promote short coded inventory to reduce shrink and returns.

Finished Goods Inventory Management

  • Working with 3rd party warehousing to determine what finished goods are available

  • Working with our production facility to determine what/when finished goods will be available.

  • Managing inventory by lot code.

  • Determining finished good quantities for our weekly productions.

This position contributes to:

Long Term Forecasting

  • Working with Sales Team to forecast future sales.

  • Working with Operations team to plan capacity, raw materials and packaging.

Margin Improvement

  • Helping to identify and execute cost savings opportunities.

Ad Hoc Support

  • Ad Hoc reporting and support to support the team.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years related work experience (demand planning, production planning or operations experience); be proficient in Microsoft Excel; must possess good customer communication skills and have great attention to detail (critical for this role!)  Further, must be a self-starter, tenacious, motivated, eager to learn and passionate about food.
